A four-day photography-focused trip combining Tam Dao and Cuc Phuong, with Blue-naped, Bar-bellied, and Blue-rumped Pittas among the priority targets. Bird activity at hides and feeding stations varies, so the program is managed flexibly and sightings are never guaranteed.

The elusive Blue-naped Pitta is one of the most difficult birds to see and photograph. In Vietnam, the only reliable site to see it is Tam Dao National Park, which is located not far from Noi Bai Airport. We have a temporary feeding station so that you can have a good chance to photograph this bird if the weather is good. In addition, Cuc Phuong National Park is home to 3 other pitta species; the Bar-bellied and Blue-rumped Pitta are trained successfully for taking pictures. Eared Pitta is difficult, and we are still working on it.

Besides pittas, there are several interesting species that have been seen at our feeding stations, including Grey Laughingthrush, Streak-breasted Scimitar babbler, Limestone Wren Babbler, Japanese Robin, Fujian Niltava, etc. 

Walking along the trail, you also might encounter Short-tailed Parrotbill, Indochinese Green Magpie, Red-collared Woodpecker, Pied Falconet, White-winged Magpie, Ratchet-tailed Treepie, Collared Babbler.

Itinerary:

• Day 1: Pick-up in Hanoi or Noi Bai Airport, drive to Tam Dao NP and start birding. Overnight at Gia Le Hotel or similar.
• Day 2: Full morning and a half afternoon of birding in Tam Dao NP, later drive to Cuc Phuong NP. Stay overnight at Cuc Phuong guesthouse for 2 nights.
• Day 3: Full-day birding in Cuc Phuong NP.
• Day 4: Morning birding in Cuc Phuong, then drive to the airport or Ha Noi city. Tour-ends.

• Single supplement: USD 120
• Includes: Bird guide, private car transportation, accommodation (shared twin room), daily meals and drinking water, and entrance fees. Providing portable hide, chairs, and worms.
• Excludes: Personal expenses (e.g., beverages, laundry), tipping for guide and driver (optional but appreciated), single supplement.
