Dear birders, birdwatchers and friends,
To increase the value of ecotourism and support the park in wildlife conservation for sustainable development, since 2018 Vietnam Wildlife Tours & Research (Wildtour LTD) has contracted with Cat Tien National Park to work together with Ecotourism Centre to operate the birding hides (blinds, or sites) where we provide artificial food and water to attract some target species.
In the meantime, we are successful at 3 sites with some highlights:
Hide #1: Bar-bellied Pitta, Blue-rumped Pitta, Siberian Blue Robin, Abbot's Babbler, Green-legged Partridge and other 10 species
Hide #2: Germain's Peacock Pheasant, Blue-rumped Pitta, Siamese Fireback, Green-legged Partridge, Red Junglefowl and 12 other species
Hide #3: Siamese Fireback, Blue-rumped Pitta and more 10 other species
To minimise nagative affect to bird and wildlife, please follow our regulations:
1. Do not feed the animal by yourself, we will provide food and help you to feed accordingly in order to NOT over feeding. DO NOT BRING WORM TO THE PARK
2. Be patient and polite with others while you are in the blind. Please note that sometimes the target bird would not appear, and there is no guarantee of its presence
3. Book your slot and purchase ticket in advance to make sure you have a space and enjoy your birding:
- If you book a package tour with Wildtour, the hide fee and guiding fee are included.
- If you only want to rent the hides, it costs 30 USD/slot/day, the slot at second hide on the same day will be charged 15USD/slot. You also have to hire "a licensed guide" which costs 100 USD per day and it will be shared among your group.
- Each hide accommodate maximum 8 birders
- For package tour, please take a look at our sample here or contact us for details
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT, YOUR COLLABORATION WILL HELP US TO PROTECT THIS BEAUTIFUL FOREST
Please follow Code of Birding Ethics
Good Luck!
