1 - Event Overview

Vietnam BirdRace 2026 is a community event that brings together birders, nature lovers and wildlife photographers through a team-based race to document bird species by photograph within a defined time window. In addition to the main competition, the event creates space for professional exchange, field experience sharing, exhibition activities and the promotion of biodiversity conservation.

Cat Tien National Park is among the premier birding destinations in southern Viet Nam, with rich lowland forest ecosystems, wetlands and a variety of attractive birdwatching routes. Cat Tien is internationally recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance. Hosting BirdRace here is not only appropriate from a biodiversity perspective but also helps promote Cat Tien as a destination for responsible ecotourism, environmental education and nature research.

• Document species through photographs to support communication and appropriate conservation data-sharing mechanisms.

• Free birdwatching and field-experience sharing on the morning of 9 May 2026.

• Exhibition space for photographs, photography and birdwatching equipment and nature communication materials.

• Expert sharing and discussions on birdwatching and wildlife conservation in Southeast Asia

• A team-based BirdRace that emphasizes fair play, accuracy and conservation ethics.

• Nature appreciation activities for children 

• Results announcement and prize-giving ceremony to recognize teams and notable images from the event.
